GARDEN WALL HOUSE

“Sonelo Architects takes heeded musings from the owners’ love of gardening and living amongst other living organisms to propose an architecture that facilitates and embraces the landscape.”

Bronwyn Marshall, The Local Project

A living wall in the landscape.

The extension to this family home sought to create a seamless connection to the garden. The architectural expression is akin to a thick lush living wall. Green inside and out.

The living wall invites the inhabitation of greeneries, permitting the panoramic experience of the garden undisturbed. A generous doorway is carved in the center of the extension to create a portal for visual and physical appreciation of the garden.

In time, the wall will be an living artwork blossoming in harmony with the seasons and the hands of the carer.
